Prayer is both listening and talking: listening to the voice of God when you come to Him and talking with Him about all your cares and concerns.
JESUS IS OUR ONLY ACCESS TO THE FATHER
John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Hebrews 4:15-16 (NIV) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Jesus is your access to everything! Spend some time today thanking God for the path of access He has provided for us through Jesus.
“Thank You, Father, that through Jesus I have access to Your throne of mercy and grace for help in my time of need.”
OUR CONFIDENCE IN ANSWERED PRAYER
1 John 5:14-15 (NIV) This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.
Numbers 23:19 (NLT) God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
All the promises of God found in Scripture are ours to receive. Practice praying the Scriptures and you will experience answers to your prayers.
“Father, I thank You that Your word is true, and I can trust every promise You make.”
WAITING ON GOD TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS
James 5:7 (NIV) Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) ...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
Allow your prayer life to sow seeds of God’s will for your life and for the life of Faith. Continue to lean into God no matter how long the delay is in answering your prayers.
“Father, I trust Your timing in answering our prayers. May all things be done according to Your will.”
A HEART LIKE JESUS FOR THE LOST
Luke 19:10 (NKJV) ...for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
John 10:11-15 (NIV) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep…I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep.
Each one of us were sought after by Jesus. Today, spend some time praying for those you know Jesus desires to come into His salvation.
“Thank You, Jesus, that You laid down Your life for me when we were lost. Grant me Your heart to seek out the lost and share Your redeeming love with them.”
IT'S GOD'S WILL THAT ALL MEN WOULD BE SAVED
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NKJV) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Today, act on the command to pray for all people. Especially those whom God has place in your life who have yet to receive the joy of salvation that you rest in.
“We thank You, O God, that it is Your will for all men to be saved. Grant us the boldness of Your Holy Spirit to reach out invite those we encounter to meet Jesus.”
IT'S THE HOLY SPIRIT'S JOB TO CONVICT SINNERS; IT'S OUR JOB TO LOVE THEM
John 16:7-8 (NIV) But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.
Let us commit today to “stay in our lane." Let God be the One to convict the lost of their sin, and let us be the one to reach out to them with the Gospel of life.
“We thank You, O God, that it is the Holy Spirit’s role to convict the world of their sin. Grant us Your heart to love them into Your Kingdom.”
BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WE WILL BE HIS WITNESSES // Online Worship & Prayer Night @ 6:30PM
Acts 1:8 (NLT) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Recognize, during this season of prayer, that our Jerusalem is Arvada and the Denver Metro Area. Ask God to reveal to you how He would have you reach out to your neighbors.
“O God, we beseech You for a new and fresh out pouring of Your Holy Spirit so that we will boldly declare to all how awesome Jesus is.”
IT'S GOD'S KINDNESS THAT BRINGS REPENTANCE
Romans 2:4 (NLT) Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
Kindness is contagious. Recall today many of God’s kindnesses towards you. Ask God for the grace to extend that same kindness towards others.
“Thank You, Father, that Your kindness towards all men is intended to lead us to repent from our sin and embrace the salvation Jesus bought for us with His blood.”
THE WISE ARE THOSE WHO WIN SOULS FOR JESUS
Proverbs 11:30 (NIV) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
This verse lays out one of the only times in Scripture where our actions result in increased wisdom. Ask God where your opportunities to obtain wisdom present itself today.
“O, Lord, it is our desire to be wise. Grant us Your hunger and heart for lost souls. Grant us Your power to win them for Jesus.”
WORKING THE HARVEST FIELD FOR GOD FILLS UP LIKE NOTHING ELSE
John 4:34-35 (NKJV) Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”
Jesus found great personal satisfaction in sharing the Good News with whomever His Father directed Him to. Today, allow the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to your field of harvest.
“Jesus, we thank You that You finished Your work and brought our lost souls into Your Kingdom. Grant us Your strategies on how each one of us might do our part in bringing the lost souls into Your Kingdom.”
THE GREAT COMMISSION IS OUR GREATEST COMMANDMENT
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Today, recognize that this call to action is a call to you personally. Ask God for His instruction on how to walk this out within your personality and gifting.
“Grant us the wisdom and strategies to make disciples of all those who You allow us to help make Jesus their Savior.”
PERSISTENCY IN PRAYER BRINGS GREAT REWARDS
Luke 18:1-8 (NLT) One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself…‘but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’” Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So, don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you; he will grant justice to them quickly!”
The word for today is “Never Give UP!” As you continue to come to the throne of grace, you will find answers to your requests.
“Heavenly Father, grant me the courage to persist in coming to You for the answers to my prayers.”
GRANT US THE GRACE TO GIVE
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (NKJV) But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
Jesus is the best example of a cheerful giver. For the joy of our salvation is what allowed Him to endure the cross and pay the penalty for our sins. Determine today that you will step into the joy of giving financially.
“Thank You, O God, that Your desire is for each of us to experience sufficiency in all things. Grant us the courage to sow bountifully.”
JESUS IS THE PROMISED SAVIOR OF ALL //
Luke 4:18 (NKJV) The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed.
Jesus demonstrated this truth throughout His entire ministry on earth. It’s now our time to step into this same anointing. Believe the call of God to preach, heal, proclaim and set at liberty those who remain lost in their brokenness.
“Thank You, Jesus, that in You alone is all good news, healing for our brokenness, liberty from the slavery of sin and eyes to see Your abundant goodness.”
RELEASE ALL OF US TO STEP INTO YOUR GIFTING FOR OUR LIVES
I Peter 4:10-11 (NLT) "God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God Himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to Him forever and ever! Amen.”
You are a minister of the Good News of Jesus. You are uniquely gifted with personality and talents to accomplish only those things you are suited to do. Lean into your uniqueness with gratitude today.
“Thank You, Father, that You have given me talents to serve You. Grant me your grace to exercise them in love.”
GOD IS LOVE
1 John 4:7 (NKJV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
Those who love, prove – by their fruits – that they are born of God. Lean into the love God has given you and freely love others.
“Thank You, God, that You are love, that Your love never fails. Grant us the change of mind to love others like You have loved us.”
ENTER INTO PRAYER WITH THANKSGIVING
Psalm 100:4 (MSG) Enter with the password: "Thank you!" Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him.
Spend some time today and list 4-5 things you are thankful for. Gratitude is the foundation we stand on that brings out true worship.
“Father, we thank You for all that You are, all that You’ve done, and all that You are doing. We enter this season of prayer in a spirit of worship and praise to You!”
WE WILL BLESS THE LORD!
Psalm 103:1-3 (NKJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.
Remind your soul of all the Lord’s benefits. Rejoice in His forgiveness and healing.
“We Bless You, O Lord, with all that we have. You are worthy of more praise and thanksgiving then we could ever bring. Yet You are pleased when we say, ‘Bless the Lord!’”
RECOGNIZE OUR APPROACH TO GOD MUCH BE WITH A PURE HEART
Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NLT) The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.
Psalm 66:18 (NLT) If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
Allow the Holy Spirit to point out any sin in your life that interferes with you experiencing His presence in your life today. Repent and apply the blood of Jesus to cleanse and restore you to full fellowship with Him.
“Father, I confess any sin in my life that would hinder You from hearing my prayers. I thank You, Jesus, for cleansing me from my sin by Your blood, death, burial and resurrection.”
SEARCH ME, O GOD, AND CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART //
Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Psalm 51:10 (RSV) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
A clean heart and a right spirit allow the flow of intimate relationship with Jesus to grow. Do not fear or hesitate to allow the Holy Spirit to highlight any area of life that prevents you from fellowship with Jesus.
“Thank You, Father, for changing me and making me more like Jesus every day.”
IT IS FAITH THAT PLEASES YOU
Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Mark 9:23-24 (NIV) “'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
Today, recognize that you are already pleasing to God by your faith in Jesus. It is always a good thing to ask for help with anything, even our unbelief.
“We confess that we do believe that You are, O Lord, and You do reward us who seek You. Thank You that You help us in our unbelief.”
